The Hounslow-Ramallah Twinning Association is proud to announce that the London Borough of Hounslow has granted us official recognition.
This brings to a successful conclusion our efforts to revive the historic link between the two communities which have been twinned since 1988.
Hounslow-Ramallah is the only twinning link with a Palestinian town or city in the whole of England to have been officially constituted at Local Authority level.
The Council meeting that took place at the Civic Centre on Tuesday 14th December agreed the motion –
“This Council welcomes the re-establishment of the Hounslow-Ramallah Twinning Association and agrees that the body be recognised by the Council”
We here at HRTA are extremely happy with our new official status and hope our relationship with the London Borough of Hounslow will allow us to work with and include all residents, community groups, schools and local organisations in our future projects.
Councillor Jason Ellar and Councillor Shantanu Rajawat were nominated and welcomed to join the Twinning Association’s committee.
We now look forward to building upon this link and developing close ties through a range of community-based projects that will enrich the communities of these two distinct places.
